Terms of service
These cover the counter operator who creates an account. The person handing over a document at the counter agrees to nothing here — what happens to their file is in the privacy notice.

Who you are contracting with
IDDrop is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS], India. Reach us at the contact page. Where these terms say “we”, that is who is meant; “you” is the operator holding the account.
What the service is
A browser-based way to move a document from a customer's phone to your counter computer over a direct encrypted link, plus the tools on your side for reviewing, cropping, compressing, merging and printing what arrives. We run the introduction service that lets the two browsers find each other, and — where a direct path is impossible — a relay that carries encrypted bytes it cannot read.
We do not store your customers' documents. We could not produce one if you asked, or if anyone else did.
Your account
One account, one operator. Keep the sign-in to yourself: anyone holding it can display a QR that appears to be your counter. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has it. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what your staff do with it.
You must be old enough to enter a contract in India, and the counter you run must be lawfully operated.
You are the data fiduciary for what you receive
The moment a customer's document lands in your browser, it is in your custody, not ours. Under India's DPDP Act 2023 that makes you the data fiduciary for it, with the duties that carry: collect only what the service needs, use it only for the visit it was given for, erase it when the purpose is served, and answer the customer if they ask about it.

What you may not do with it
- Ask for documents the service in front of you does not need.
- Keep, copy, forward or sell a customer's document beyond the visit it was given for.
- Display your QR anywhere the customer cannot see the counter it belongs to.
- Use the service for anything unlawful, or to move material you have no right to hold.
- Probe, load-test, scrape or attempt to break the signalling service or the relay. Security research is welcome through security.txt instead.
- Resell or rebrand the service as your own without written agreement.
Plans, quotas and payment
Every account starts on a 7-day trial with everything switched on. It rolls into Free automatically — nothing stops working, it just meters at 5 customers a month. Pro is ₹299 a month for 1,000 customer connections; Unlimited is ₹599 a month with no cap. Quotas reset on the 1st of each calendar month.
Prices are in Indian rupees and exclude GST unless the invoice says otherwise. Paid plans renew each month until cancelled. We will tell you at least 30 days before a price change, and you can cancel instead.
Cancelling
Cancel from your dashboard at any time. Your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and then drops to Free — the account keeps working, metered. Refund conditions are on the refund and cancellation page, which forms part of these terms.
Availability, and what happens when it is down
We aim to keep the signalling service up, and we do not promise a percentage. If it is unreachable, no new transfer can start — but everything already in your dashboard stays usable offline: print, crop, compress, export. That is deliberate, and it is the closest thing to an availability guarantee we are willing to make in writing.
We may change, suspend or withdraw features. If a change removes something you are paying for, you may cancel and receive the unused portion of that month back.
Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent Indian law permits, our total liability to you for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the three months before it arose — and on Free, that is nothing. We are not liable for a document lost because a browser profile was cleared, a computer was replaced, or a transfer was interrupted. Received files live in your browser on one machine, with an expiry; that is the design, and it means you should not treat the dashboard as an archive.
Ending an account
You may close yours whenever you like. We may suspend or close one that breaks section 5, that is being used to harm the people it was built to protect, or where we are required to. Where the situation allows it, we will say why and give you a chance to fix it first.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page. The date at the top moves when we do, and a material change is announced in the dashboard before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance.
Governing law
Indian law governs these terms, and the courts at [CITY] have exclusive jurisdiction. Before filing anything, write to us — most of what reaches a court here would have been settled by an email.
